At some point though, most of us have considered disengaging from one of our social media platforms or going cold turkey and completely deleting our social media accounts. Takes too much time, there’s too much information…but somehow our involvement and interaction with our favourite “hated” sites just always seem to return. Back to routine!<\/span><\/p>\n

In my opinion, here are some of the key reasons we love our social media and keep going back for more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ease of use<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s very simple to use and easily accessible to most everyone. We spend so much time on our mobile devices during the course of any given day that checking our Facebook news-feed or Instagramming (is that even a word?) or Tweeting are all easily done. Many of us also enjoy receiving email notifications when one of our posts has received comments or has been commented on or \u201cliked.\u201d Can never remember when a friend\u2019s birthday is upcoming? No need to worry, Facebook will let you know.<\/span><\/p>\n

Quick, efficient resource for information<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Social media is very efficient when disseminating news. Your various news-feeds will advise you when a famous public figure has had a misstep or has unfortunately passed away, when your home team wins or loses, about new recipes, about travel tips and of course, about friends & family. All this updated information is always right there, waiting for you in real time. We\u2019ll then search the web for more details but very often our first touch-point is social media.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are able to discover and learn information on virtually any topic or trend as well as find companies in various areas of expertise as never before. The businesses that have created lifestyle magazines that relate to their followers are valuable tools. Recipes and crafts from Pinterest, beautiful images on Instagram, breaking news on Twitter…and all of these are found on Facebook; the granddaddy of them all.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are now able to be in touch with family & friends with no extra charges or geographic borders. No worries about long distance charges.<\/span><\/p>\n

Consumers, stakeholders and contacts from anywhere in the world are all part of our corporate profiles in the wonderful world of social media.<\/span><\/p>\n

Social media is addictive, easy to use, and offers options for information and content keep us engaged. So…how many times have you <\/em>broken routine, just to scramble right back? Because you know<\/em> you love social media. Now you just have to admit it!<\/span><\/p>\n
